Tim Melvin is a value investor, money manager and writer residing in Windermere Florida. He has spent the last 27 years as in the financial services and investment industry as a broker, advisor and portfolio manager. He has also written and lectured extensively on the markets with his work appearing on RealMoney.com, DailySpecualtion.com as well as several print publication including Active Trader and the Wall Street Digest. Mr. Melvin has also collaborated on several investment books published in the Wiley Little Book Series of Investment Books.

He is the Author of the Junior Chamber Course On Value Investing, an investment education program geared towards young adults. The course taught the principles and techniques of basic value investing as espoused by Benjamin Graham to a new generation of investors.

Mr. Melvin is a strict practioner of asset based value investing in the tradition of Graham, Schloss and Whitman. He has also done extensive research into using options strategies and leverage to improve and enhance the portfolio risk and return form a basic asset based portfolio. Having never been to B-School except as a lecturer he has not been corrupted by EMH, CAPM or other silly theories that harm long term investors

In his personal life he is married with three children and recently abandoned the colds of the Northeast for the warmth and distraction of the Florida lifestyle. He is an ardent fan of baseball, books and burgundy as well as palm trees, pelican and alligators.
